Exterior walls
Outside walls we paint
A wall outside works hard: sun, street, tagging, a lease. We plan for all of it before the sketch.
Block and alley walls
Masonry primed for paint, then painted in layers. Utility boxes and meters are worked around.
Building sides
Brick and stucco up to what a lift or scaffold reaches, with the neighbors told first.
Storefronts and roll-down gates
Paint that shows when you're open and when you're not.
Garage doors and fences
Small walls, quick to sketch and quick to paint.
Courtyards and patios
Walls people sit beside, so the art is built for close looking.
Stairwells and breezeways
Shared walls in apartment buildings, with the building manager's sign-off.
A wall, day by day
What the crew does on site
The proposal gives your dates. A bigger wall adds days, and a wet day moves everything back.
- 01
Step 1: Day 1: wash and patch
The wall is washed, loose paint is scraped, and cracks and holes are filled.
- 02
Step 2: Day 2: prime and grid
Masonry primer goes on. The sketch is transferred by a chalk grid or a projector.
- 03
Step 3: Days 3 to 5: color, then detail
Big color fields first, then the lines and faces on top.
- 04
Step 4: Last day: seal and clean up
A clear coat goes on where the wall calls for it. Then a walk-through with you, and cleanup.
Sun and rain
A wall has to be dry, and out of the worst sun
Paint goes on a dry wall. In summer we start early and follow the shade around the building. After rain we wait. The proposal says what happens to the schedule when a day is lost.
On every outside wall
Masonry primer on block and stucco
Exterior paint made for masonry
A clear coat sealer where the wall calls for it
Early starts in summer heat

Questions about outside walls
What if it rains?
We wait. Paint goes on a dry wall, and the proposal says what happens to the schedule when a day is lost.
Will the colors fade in the sun?
Sun fades every pigment slowly, reds and yellows first. We use exterior paint made for masonry and seal the finished wall. Ask us which colors and sealers hold up best on a wall that faces the afternoon sun.
Can you paint over graffiti?
Yes. We clean and prime the wall first. A clear coat makes paint easier to wipe clean, but no coating stops tagging, and we won't say it does.
Who has to approve a wall?
You, and whoever owns the building if that isn't you. Some walls also need a city mural registration or a sign-off from an HOA or business district. We tell you which at the approval step, before paint is ordered.
Send us the wall
A photo and a rough size are enough to start. We text back a day to visit.
